FAQ

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most standard kitchen remodels take about 4 to 8 weeks of construction time once work on site begins. If your project involves knocking down walls, moving plumbing to add an island, or installing custom cabinetry, it can take longer. We map out the schedule before we ever swing a hammer so you know exactly what to expect.

Can I still use my kitchen or cook at home during the remodel?

For the most part, your kitchen will be a fully functioning construction zone, meaning your stove, sink, and dishwasher will be disconnected. We highly recommend setting up a temporary kitchenette in another room with a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. We do our best to keep the site clean and sealed off, but you should plan on eating out or grilling for the majority of the construction phase.

Who chooses the appliances and when do we need to order them?

You select the appliances that fit your cooking style and budget, but we need those exact dimensions and specifications early in the design process. Cabinetry and countertops cannot be finalized until we know the precise measurements of your fridge, range, and dishwasher. We can help guide you on brands and configurations that fit your layout, and we coordinate the installation timing.

Can you open up my kitchen to the living room by removing a wall?

Yes, opening up layout walls is one of the most common requests we handle. First, we have to determine if the wall is load bearing or contains major plumbing, electrical, or heating ducts. If it is load bearing, we will design and install a properly engineered header beam to safely support the weight of your home while giving you that open concept feel.
